MA Education (Masters of Arts in Education)

Entry Requirements

The MA in Education and its constituent parts are normally offered to qualified professionals (usually in Education) and those with equivalent. Applicants shall normally hold a good first degree UK Upper Second Class Honours or above, have at least 3 months relevant experience or working in an educational setting or other relevant setting. 

Some modules require specific experience and/or current practice. A Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is required for those applicants wishing to study our MA Education: Special Educational Needs and MA Education: Creative Arts, Full Time specialisms.

You also need to be aware that you are only eligible to study this programme via Distance Learning. This is due to Visa restrictions. Therefore your module options are restricted to those that offer the delivery method of Distance Learning. Please see our Module Information page for details. 

University of Exeter graduates

University of Exeter PGCE and National Award for SEN Coordination programme and PCAP graduates who have successfully completed their qualification within three years of the start of their intended programme can gain accelerated entry to the MA Education programme.

If you received your qualification from another institution, you will need to apply for your learning to be assessed.
