Master of Education (MEd) Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) (part-time) - Summer Intensive Course

Entry requirements

Each application is considered on an individual basis to determine suitability. However, applicants are typically expected to have a first degree in language or education, a teaching qualification, and a minimum of two years full-time relevant teaching experience.

If you are an international student, please visit our international equivalency pages to enable you to see if your existing academic qualifications meet our entry requirements. You will also need to satisfy our English language entry requirements. Please see our English language requirements pages for details.

Accreditation for Prior Learning (APL)

If you have previously completed a DELTA award, you can carry forward a maximum of 60-credits to the programme. This would mean a reduction in fees and it may also be possible to complete the taught part of the programme in one year rather than two. Please contact Sue Riley (S.M.Riley@Exeter.ac.uk) for further information.

When I discovered the Summer Intensive MEd TESOL at the University of Exeter, I was impressed to see that here was a course which matched my needs: face to face rather than screen tuition; almost full flexibility in the choice of modules; and attendance during the summer holidays so I did not need to take time off from teaching. Almost three years later, I can say that I have enjoyed everything about the programme and would recommend this course of study to any like-minded professionals.

When I complete my MEd TESOL I intend to embark upon the EdD in TESOL: another unique opportunity offered by the University of Exeter.
