Training for Professionalism

Learning to be a professional is part of the training process. Whilst some trainees will automatically be so, others, whilst well-meaning, will not have gained a full understanding what it means to be a professional and will need training. The new Standards for the Award of QTS encourage this training in professionalism by allocating 9 different standards to it thus professional behaviour is a key component of the training process. Trainees will need opportunities to meet these standards, guidance and advice about them, and, where appropriate, targets that help them have a clear idea about what is expected.
