Centre for Research in Writing

The Centre for Research in Writing has been established to promote writing research which crosses boundaries – disciplinary, methodological, philosophical and contextual.  This Centre provides a forum for the sharing, development and interrogation of inter-disciplinary perspectives on writing.

The Centre holds a coffee morning every Monday in term time for informal conversation.  If you would like to come along please contact Debra Myhill.

Recent seminars

The Centre hosted visiting speaker Professor Julie Dockrell (Univeristy of London) as part of the 2014/15  GSE Research Seminar Series on 14 October 2014.  The seminar was entitled: Developmental writing difficulties: assessing writing products and writing processes.

Our research is not only concerned with writing but also with all aspects of language and literacy.  Visit our projects page for details of current and past projects.

Who we are

The Centre is comprised of a diverse range of people, both within the Graduate School of Education and from the wider field. The Centre is run by a core team from the School, in collaboration with a number of International Affiliates and supported by current Doctoral Students.
