Centre for Research in Writing

The Centre for Research in Writing has been established to promote writing research which crosses boundaries – disciplinary, methodological, philosophical and contextual.  This Centre provides a forum for the sharing, development and interrogation of inter-disciplinary perspectives on writing.

News and Events

The Centre holds a coffee morning every Monday in term time for informal conversation.  If you would like to come along please contact Debra Myhill.

Centre members win University Impact Award

At the recent University of Exeter Impact Awards 2013 celebration evening, Centre members Debra Myhill, Susan Jones, Helen Lines and Annabel Watson were awarded winners of the “Outstanding Impact in Policy and Education” Impact Award 2013.

Recent seminars

The Centre hosted visiting speaker Dr Paul Thompson (Birmingham University) as the part of the 2014 GSE Research Seminar Series on 28 January 2014. The seminar was entitled: Investigating the discourse of interdisciplinary research.  A recording is available for University staff and students.

Our research is not only concerned with writing but also with all aspects of language and literacy.  Visit our projects page for details of current and past projects.

New projects include Powerful Learning Conversations funded by the Youth Sport Trust.

Who we are
