Profile

Carole Parnell is a lecturer in PE and has responsibility for the selection and recruitment, teaching and supervision of student teachers on the PGCE PE Course. She was Head of Department in a local comprehensive school for several years, worked in other Devon schools including the local 6th Form College. In the last twenty years, Carole has divided her time between The Maynard school, a prestigious girls' independent school, as a Primary PE co-ordinator, and as a lecturer at the University.  Since 2005, Carole has concentrated on the teaching and supervision of student teachers on the PGCE PE Course, where her strengths are in the practical application of theory into practice in the context of the classroom and how children learn. From September 2012, Carole has also been leading and teaching PE to Primary PGCE student teachers in the Graduate School of Education.
