Sarah's career in the field of TESOL spans more than 30 years, 16 of which were spent overseas as a teacher, and later a trainer and curriculum co-ordinator in a number of countries, including Sudan, Syria, China and the UAE. Sarah returned to the UK in 1996 to take up a post as a lecturer in Education at the University of Exeter. During her time at Exeter she was director of the MEd in TESOL programme and Director of the campus-based Professional Doctorate in TESOL programmes. Since November 2012, Sarah has been an EFL teacher training advisor for the Ministry of Education in Oman.


I have a BA in Sociology and Anthropology, a Masters in Applied Linguistics and a PhD in Education. The focus of my PhD is about learning from intercultural experiences.
