I was PGCE MFL Subject Leader from 1995-2005 and Visiting Schools Tutor for French PGCE students in Cornwall Somerset and Dorset from 2005-2011.
I have been involved with several European projects recently:
The use of ICT and autonomous strategies in target culture teaching, coordinated by a colleague from the London Institute of Education working on the development of replicable Web-bases sample training modules.
Mentor development and evaluation with the Open University, Oxford University and several European schools of Education (Rotterdam, Linz, Limburg, Brugge and Almeria) .
ISTEPEC - Intercultural Studies for Teacher Education to Promote European Citizenship coordinated by Rennes University with Cordoba, Catania,Tilburg, Stockholm, Kecskemet, Poznan, Banka-Bystrica.
I am a member of the French Committee of ALL (Professional Association for Teachers of Languages) contributing regurlarly to the biennial review Francophonie.
I'm working at present on cultural anthropology and writing up an article on “Vichy revisited” on the continuous impact of the Vichy regime on French society.
