On the 23 November, the SSIS Employability team and Dr Beverley Loke, this year's head of Politics Postgraduate employability, welcomed the return of four recent graduates who had previously undertaken postgraduate degrees within the politics department.

Ben Chester Cheong graduated from the University of Exeter in 2014 with a first class degree in Law. Penryn Politics students learn about working in the third sector

“Careers that Make Society Work” is an event held frequently by the College of Social Sciences and International Studies. The umbrella title reflects the demand from students to learn about a broad range of career options in the third and public sectors. Previous events have focussed on Child Protection and Social Work and on Police and Probation. The latest “Careers that Make Society Work” panel discussion took place at the Penryn campus, University of Exeter, bringing together Politics, English and History students to hear about a variety of third sector jobs.

Public Service communications and government communication careers explained

Students at the University of Exeter had the opportunity to hear from the Executive Director for Government Communications, Mr Alex Aiken, at a talk on the theme of Public Service Communications. The role of government communications was explained and Mr Aiken took a range of questions from students who were keen to know more about current developments in Mr Aiken's Cabinet Office role.

Careers Day in the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies

The IAIS Careers Day took place on 12th February. There were two panel discussions; an alumni panel discussion on "What you can do with a degree in Arab and Islamic Studies" and a discussion on "Careers in the Middle East". Students also had the opportunity to network with speakers at a drinks events.

Law students explore new horizons on internship programme in Taiwan

Two law students from the University of Exeter’s Law School joined a prestigious paid summer internship programme at Lee and Li in July 2013.  Lee and Li Attorneys-at-Law is the largest law firm in Taiwan and offer up to thirty students a year the opportunity to immerse themselves in Taiwanese law and culture.
