Sociology, Criminology and Anthropology alumni with students
Career Options explained at Sociology Careers panel discussion
The College of Social Sciences and International Studies continued its series of careers events with an alumni panel, welcoming Sociology, Anthropology and Criminology graduates back to Exeter. Joining us to discuss their variety of career paths were Adam Bundy (Sociology, 2015), Lauren Redfern (Sociology & Anthropology, 2015), Lily Megson (Politics & Sociology, 2015), and Minh-Tri Le (Sociology & Criminology with Applied Data Analysis, 2016).
In the talk the speakers gave a different angle on how they have used their undergraduate degrees from Exeter to go onto successful careers in the public sector, charities sector, PR and Government. Whilst inspiring our students to excel in their degrees, our speakers all emphasised the importance in making use of extra-circular opportunities, tools and resources whilst at university, as well as giving our students an insight into the variety of jobs available, typical career progression and future developments within their chosen sector.
Students warmly welcomed our guests, asking insightful questions and were happy to learn that their social science degrees opens doors to a variety of careers. Current students can learn more about popular career paths for social scientist by reading our Career Portfolios.
