My research interests are in the areas of ethno-national conflict management, US foreign policy and Northern Ireland. My doctoral research examined the ‘high politics’ of post-Agreement Northern Ireland, with a particular focus on the United States’ role in the peace process. My 2007 article examining the Bush administration’s role in Northern Ireland has been featured several newspapers, and in Henry McDonald’s book Gunsmoke and Mirrors: How Sinn Féin dressed up defeat as victory. The article also served as the basis of a BBC Radio 4 documentary entitled ‘The Price of Peace: Dealing with Gerry’, which aired in March 2008.
