Ahmed is currently the Head of Archives and Libraries at King Abdul Aziz Centre for World Culture, Saudi ARAMCO
He has over 20 years of experience in archives and libraries in a variety of cultures and environments that include the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Emirates and Qatar. He was previously the Digital Assets Manager of the University of Exeter with responsibility of managing the Arab World Documentation Unit and the Exeter Research and Information Content archive (ERIC), the Director of the Heritage Library at Qatar Foundation, and the Chief Librarian of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Ahmed has an MSc in Information Management (UK) and a BA in Archives & Information Science (Egypt). His current research interest is the reform of higher education in the Arab world within the context of both knowledge society and knowledge economy.
