Scholarships, bursaries and prizes

HRH Prince Alwaleed Al Saud Scholarship for short study courses abroad

Undergraduate Students pursuing a single or combined honours degree within the Institute may apply for this scholarship to further their studies. Students may spend 4-8 weeks in an Arab country to study Arabic or gather research material. They may be enrolled in one of the above institutions or they may go, with the approval of the Institute, to another place of their choice. Students may be awarded a grant of up to £1,000. Prizes

A number of prizes are awarded each year to undergraduate students.

Alexandria Poetry Recitation Competition

A prize for the best poetry recitation. Value: £300

Batten-Pattar Prizes for History and Politics

These prizes are awarded annually to the best essays in History and Politics at level 2 and level 3. Value: £100 each.

Howard Feurtado Prize

There is a prize for the best fourth year dissertation. Value: £50

Tom Fattorini Award ‘Best Performance in a BA Programme’

A plate is awarded annually to the student with the best set of results in the Level 3 final examinations. Value: £150 and a commemorative plate.

Year Abroad Photography Prize

The prize is awarded to the best photograph, accompanied by a short descriptive abstract, submitted by a student returning from the Year Abroad. Value: £200 annually.
