Law School Associates' Network

Our Law School Associates’ Network is open to all members of the local legal and business community, Exeter alumni, law firms and academics. It provides a framework for those interested in developing an innovative relationship with us at the exciting time of growth for the University of Exeter. As well as the benefits listed below, we ask you to let us know if there is any other type of involvement you would like with the Law School.

The aims of the group are:

• to explore and share news about topical issues and establish a network of expertise;
• to create opportunities to seek practitioner, academic and research collaboration amongst members;
• to offer opportunities for members of the profession to participate in the teaching of programmes and extra-curricular activities;
• to facilitate careers development for members of the group, together with students and staff of the Law School.

• Annual newsletter
• Opportunities to collect Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points at lectures and talks. Some of these will be jointly hosted by the Devon and Somerset Law Society
• Invitations to exclusive events held by the University of Exeter
• “Meet the academics” lunchtime or evening events on topical issues
• Opportunities for practitioners to participate in the teaching programme and extra-curricular activities at the Law School. You may add your name to a pool of practitioners and select areas in which you are happy to come and talk, which will be of benefit to the students. Academics will then use this list as a resource and call upon you for your input when required.

Extra features

If you are overseas, we will tell you when our academic staff are visiting your area, and whenever possible try and organise some form of contact. Equally, if you are visiting Exeter, let us know and we will invite you to see us on campus and arrange a lunch or dinner.
