Bracton Law Society nominated in the LawCareers.Net Student Law Society Awards 2018.

As part of the LawCareers.Net Student Law Society Awards 2018, Bracton Law Society has been nominated for the best society for aspiring barristers award, sponsored by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple. The aim of the awards is to highlight and celebrate the great work that societies do, on campuses, up and down the country and the fantastic events and opportunities they create for their members.

Bracton Law Society's Bar Group Chair, Mia McNevin articulates,

'The Bar Group aims to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and experience necessary to ensure that they can succeed as aspiring barristers. This involves organising trips to the Inns of Court, attending insight days and the National Pupillage Fair.

This year an emphasis has been placed on ensuring that students develop the advocacy skills necessary for a career at the Bar. The Bar Group have introduced Bracton Law Society’s first Internal Advocacy Competition, along with advocacy workshops led by experienced practitioners. We have also participated in the BPP Advocate of the Year Competition. As well as this, we offer students the opportunity to partake in the Annual BLS Debate Competition.

It is a great achievement for Bracton Law Society to be nominated for this award and for the hard work of both its members and committee to be recognised.'

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in Painter’s Hall, London on Thursday 15 March 2018.
