Teaching Fellow

Craig Newbery-Jones is a teaching fellow in law, based on the Streatham Campus. He also teaches workshop seminars on the Tremough Campus. His main teaching interests are Contract Law and Trusts Law.

Craig's research examines the nineteenth century history of the legal profession, with particular focus on the history of the bar during this period. His work has included an exploration of the symbiotic relationship between the bar, the press and the public in relation to the bar's prevention of state intervention into their regulatory affairs. His research also explores how the press represented the bar to the public through their general exposure of the profession, ascertaining the subsequent public image of lawyers that was created.

Craig Newbery-Jones is a member of the Bracton Centre for Legal History Research and is the recipient of the Clifford Parker Memorial Scholarship.
