Deputy Head of Marketing
I am Deputy Head of Marketing and also Marketing Manager for the College of Social Sciences and International Studies. Working closely with the College and Professional Services, I provide consultancy and practical help on a wide range of marketing activities such as strategy, research, customer relationship management, advertising, publications and the web.
I joined the University in February 2007 from North Somerset Council, where I was Marketing and Communications Manager for three years. Before that, I was Public Relations Manager at Devon and Cornwall Constabulary during which time I served on the Media Advisory Group to the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO), which provides strategic guidance on national media policy. During my career I have led teams responsible for: media relations; public relations; marketing; web, video and digital media; customer services; internal communications; design and print; consultation and market research; income generation and sponsorship.
Formerly a journalist and an Accredited Practitioner with the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, I have qualifications in journalism and public relations.
I've been taking photographs all my life and spent my first wage packet on my first SLR. I've ditched my dark room in favour of digital, and now tend to specialise in nature and wildlife photography.
