Briefing regulators and decision-makers in Italy

Professor Claudio Radaelli, director of the Centre for European Governance, provided a briefing session at the Italian think tank ASTRID on 9 June 2015 on the new regulatory strategy of the European Commission.  Prof Radaelli explained the strengths and weaknesses of the new vision and tools suggested by the European Commission, pointing to ways in which member states like Italy can participate strategically in its implementation. The 60-strong audience for the seminar included the head of the office for legislation in the cabinet office, the head of public administration programmes, the Italian representative to the OECD/regulatory policy committee, former minister Franco Bassanini, regulators and heads of regulatory affairs of the major federations of firms based in Italy.
