Post- Brexit, Does Devon Need an International Vision?

Experts discuss a new international vision for Devon post-Brexit at Exeter event

An MP and foreign policy experts will discuss how Devon communities and companies can have influence around the world following Brexit at an event this week.

Sir Hugo Swire, MP for East Devon and former Minister of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office will join Edward Hobart, Director of Estates and Security at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office at the discussion, about security, prosperity and how Devon can boost international links when Britain leaves the EU.

Also speaking will be Linda Middleton- Jones, Director of the Devon Chamber of Commerce and Alistair Handyside, Chair of the South West Tourism Alliance.

The free event, called Post- Brexit, Does Devon Need an International Vision? is open to all and is organised by the British Foreign Policy Group with experts from the University of Exeter’s Strategy and Security Institute. The audience members will be able to ask questions about Devon’s international vision and voice their thoughts about current issues.

The BFPG is a new independent non-partisan, not for profit organisation dedicated to improving the effectiveness of national engagement on the UK's international position and choices. This event is part of BFPG’s national engagement programme, which aims to generate public discussion around British foreign policy. 

Also speaking are Romilly Greenhill, UK Director, The ONE Campaign, Myles Wickstead CBE, former diplomat and visiting Professor at the University of Exeter, Victoria Hatfield, Economy and Enterprise Manager, Exeter City Council, Tom Cargill, Executive Director, The British Foreign Policy Group and Imy Kirwan, BFPG Student Ambassador and University of Exeter student.
