Sociology, Philosophy and Anthropology Outreach
Sociology is the study of how society is organized and how we experience life. Sociology today is one of the most popular subjects. To study philosophy is to grapple with questions that have occupied humankind for millennia, in conversation with some of the greatest thinkers who have ever lived. The study of anthropology improves our specific knowledge of a variety of cultures and social groups, but more importantly it encourages the development of a world-view which is open to the possibilities of different ways of being.
The skills that these subjects teach you will always be in high demand: the ability to think and write clearly, the ability to bring to light unnoticed presuppositions, to explain complex ideas clearly, to notice connections and implications, to see things in a broader context, to challenge orthodoxy. These skills can be applied to almost any line of work, some of our graduates from these programmes have gone on into Marketing, Teaching, the Legal profession or the finance sector.
