We are able to accommodate both groups and individual students.

Student Shadowing- Shadow an undergraduate student for the day!

January to March 2018

We have a fantastic opportunity for your Year 12 students to experience a ‘Day in the life of an Exeter University student’ as part of the University’s Shadow a Student Scheme.

Students will spend the day (10:00 – 15:00) accompanied by current undergraduate students and will take part in a variety of activities based around their chosen subject:

  • Attend lectures and/ or seminars in their chosen subject
  • Campus tour
  • Tour of facilities e.g. library and Student’s Guild
  • Lunch and/or refreshments

This free scheme not only allows students to find out more about their chosen subject from current students who have recently been through the process themselves, but they are also able to experience university-style learning first hand and gain a deeper understanding of what it is really like to be an undergraduate student at the University of Exeter. It is also a unique experience for students to reference in their personal statements.

We currently offer the subjects below as part of the scheme:

  • Sociology
  • Philosophy
  • Anthropology
  • Criminology

We can accommodate school groups or requests from individual students and can alter the length and timetable of the day depending on requirements.

If this is something your school or students would be interested in doing, please contact the SSIS Outreach Team.
