Welcome to all new postgraduate students arriving in Autumn 2016

Welcome to the Department of Politics at the University of Exeter.

You are now studying at one of the best all round Politics departments in the UK, where we excel in research and teaching across all the main areas of political science including international relations, political theory, public policy and administration, comparative politics, public opinion and political behaviour.

Our taught masters programmes reflect this diversity and the fact that our research directly shapes the modules we deliver at this level.

We have grown significantly in recent years and our reputation for high quality research has helped us recruit staff with excellent records, providing us with a breadth and depth of expertise that makes us a world class Politics group.

Our staff aim to be friendly and approachable so feel free to come and discuss with us any issues that you may have. We welcome your feedback and ideas.

Andrew Massey
Professor of Politics

Please note

The guidelines listed in the left-hand menu (under 'New postgraduates') are written for Postgraduate Taught (PGT) students. PGT students are those studying for an MA (other than MA by Research), an MPA, or an MRes.

If you are studying for an MA by Research, an MPhil, or a PhD then you are a Postgraduate Research (PGR) student; if this applies to you, please see the Graduate Research School website for your induction information.
