Dr Claire Dunlop joined expert panel for Guardian live Q&A.

Dr Claire Dunlop, Senior Lecturer in Public Policy, joined an expert panel to take part in a Guardian live Q&A on Thursday 13 October.

The session was entitled 'Ask the experts: What to do with a degree in politics'.

The Q&A provided an opportunity for students and graduates to share their experiences and ask for advice from academics and employers. The questions ranged from internship advice to tips on networking and getting the most out of a Politics and IR degree. Recurring themes were need to be resilient, flexible and imaginative as you build your career. Politics graduates' ability to think critically, write clearly and present complex ideas cogently leaves them well placed in today's competitive job market.

For those who could not participate on the day, the chat remains online as a resource for them.
