Claudio Radaelli provided a briefing session on the new EU strategy to the Italian government at the think tank ASTRID

Last month, the European Commission presented a comprehensive strategy for regulatory quality.

On 9 June Claudio Radaelli, director of the Centre for European Governance, provided a briefing session on the new EU strategy to the Italian government, in Rome, at the think tank ASTRID. Claudio explained strengths and weaknesses of the new vision and tools suggested by the Commission, pointing to ways in which member states like Italy can participate strategically in their implementation.

Claudio spoke under Chatham House rules at the seminar, addressing an audience comprising the head of the office for legislation in the cabinet office, the head of public administration programmes, the Italian representative to the OECD/regulatory policy committee, former ministers like Franco Bassanini and other 60 regulators and heads of regulatory affairs of the major federations of firms based in Italy. Part of his presentation will appear later in the year in the European Journal of Risk and Regulation.
