Andrew Massey at the IIAS-Lien Conference 2019

Andrew Massey presented a paper on "Fulfilling Sustainable Development Goals: Issues of Accountability."

The session in which the paper featured was focused on the principles of Good Governance.

Institutions play a critical role in the achievement of all the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and targets. However, public sector reforms needed to implement the SDGs continue to be a major and vexing challenge. In order to address this, the Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) has developed a set of principles of good governance encapsulated in “effectiveness”, “accountable” and “inclusivity”.

To address challenges amidst emerging technology, health and societal risks, this panelpresented and applied the principles of good governance towards fulfilling the SDGs by linking to a variety of frameworks and strategies for operationalizing effective, accountable and inclusive governance.
