Dr Eva Thomann to act as external advisor on a new project to be funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation

Dr Thomann is an advisor to the project, and will provide external expertise, drawing on her own research into food safety regulation, the hybridization of food governance, policy implementation in the EU, policy instruments, compliance, and behavioural public policy.

The main aims of the project are to:

  • Systematically review and analyse Swiss agriculture, food processing, safety and distribution, and public health policies within an international context;
  • Identify synergies and potential conflicts between those policy fields;
  • Use the evidence and recommendations from existing research projects funded under earlier waves of the scheme to develop strategies for their successful implementation and to formulate concrete, internationally compatible policy suggestions
