Lecturer in Political Theory
I am interested in most areas of moral and political philosophy, and some areas of legal philosophy. My recent research focuses on egalitarian theories of justice, the morality of consent and its role in politics, ethical responses to climate change, the justification of political authority, and the use of intuition in moral reasoning.
I completed a BPhil and DPhil in philosophy at the University of Oxford, under the supervision of G. A. Cohen. I joined Exeter in 2007 and spent the year 2009-2010 as a Visiting Faculty Fellow at the Centre for Ethics, University of Toronto. I will be a visiting Hoover Fellow at the Hoover Chair, Universite Catholique de Louvain, from January 2012.
