As Director of College Operations (DCO) for the College of Social Sciences and International Studies, Tom Begbie holds leadership responsibility for professional services and operational delivery in the College. The DCO is a key role in the College Executive team, directly supporting the College and University strategic plans for the delivery of excellence in teaching and research.

Tom joined the College in 2018 from the University of Bristol, where he was the School Manager of Bristol’s School of Education between 2013 and 2018. Prior to this, Tom held a number of roles in a range of areas at the University of Exeter between 2005 and 2013, including: the Faculty of Taught Programmes; the School of Humanities and Social Sciences; the Law School; and finally as the Assistant College Manager (PGR).

Tom holds a degree and a PhD in music from Dartington College of Arts, which is now integrated with Falmouth University.
