Iulia is an Associate Lecturer in the Q-Step Centre and a Research Fellow working on two ESRC-funded projects: "Media in Context and the 2015 General Election: How Traditional and Social Media Shape Elections and Governing" and "ExpoNET: Measuring Information Exposure in Dynamic and Dependent Networks". She holds and Ph.D. in Political Science from New York University (2015) and has spent a year as a Fellow in the Methodology department at LSE before coming to Exeter. Her research focuses on electoral competition, candidate and party positions, campaign dynamics and social media, and makes use of a diverse set of methods such as econometric analysis, machine learning, quantitative text analysis, and experiments.
