Farm Business Survey

The Farm Business Survey (FBS) is the most authoritative source of information on the financial and physical performance of farm businesses in England.

Funded by the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs, it is designed to inform policy decisions on matters affecting farm businesses and is intended to serve the needs of farmers, government, government partners, farming and land management interest groups, and researchers.

For many years the South West FBS was conducted by the University of Exeter. Now, in an exciting collaboration between the Rural Business School at Duchy College and the Centre for Rural Policy Research, the FBS is conducted by a team of Research Officers and support staff based at both campuses, combining their wide knowledge and expertise.

More details can be found on the Duchy College website.

The Farm Business Survey also directly produced the Farm Management Handbook.
