Research opportunities

We have a thriving community of PhD students researching a diverse range of topics at home and abroad on both a full and part-time basis. We welcome applications from prospective PhD students. The breadth of research supervision available can be seen by accessing the staff pages on this site. To discuss possible research topics, please contact Matt Lobley or Harry West in the first instance.

We are currently inviting applications for a fully-funded PhD studentship (full-time or part-time study) to be based in the Centre for Rural Policy Research. We are looking for PhD proposals in any of the following areas or any other social science issue related to the changing role of agriculture and the countryside and relevant to the core research interests of the supervisors:

1. The debate on livestock agriculture

2. The debate on productivity in UK agriculture
