Reflecting on Practice - Secondary Science (Teach First) (EDUM015)

This module will support you in using your understanding of values (your own, those which form the basis of the Teach First programme, and those of your school), of theories and empirical evidence, and of the context in which you are working to plan, interrogate, evaluate and improve your practice as a teacher. It will support you in using the same processes of reflection to deepen your understanding of these values, theories and context. Directed tasks will help you improve your skills of reflection. Assignments will enable you to record, in an incremental process, your developing knowledge and understanding which forms the core evidence of your development as a reflective practitioner. The content of the module is strongly inter-dependent with the Subject and Curriculum Studies module and the Education and Professional Studies modules of the PGCE (Teach First) programme.
