Staff and Students Speak about Anarchism and Animal Rights

As part of the AHRC-funded “Engaging with Radical Ideas Project” of the Exeter Anarchist Reading Group, Dr. Nigel Pleasants and students Jess Groling (Sociology), Chris Calvert (Geography), and Christie Smith (Politics) appeared on Exeter's Phonic FM on Friday 3rd June to talk about "The Myth of the Neutrality of Freedom - Anarchism and Animal Rights". They discussed speciesism, moral agency, cognitive dissonance, the notion of freedom, and Dr. Pleasant's concept of institutional wrongdoing and how these relate to anarchist and other social movement praxis.
