Research Interests
- Philosophy of mind: emotion, consciousness and embodied/enactive approaches to the mind
- Philosophy of science: theories and experimental work in affective science
- Phenomenology of affectivity and the body
In a nutshell, my current research project consists in proposing a reconceptualization of the emotions and other affective phenomena from an "enactivist" perspective. According to the latter, mind is deeply continuous with life, it does not reduce to brain activity but is rather enacted or brought forth by the whole organism in its coupling with the world.
To develop my arguments I draw largely on empirical work and theories in the affective sciences (especially the psychology and neuroscience of emotion), as well as various philosophical accounts of emotions in both analytic philosophy and phenomenology.

Research Supervision
I am happy to supervise research in philosophy of mind/cognitive science from an empirically informed perspective. In particular:
- Philosophy of emotion and the affective sciences
- Consciousness (including phenomenology of affect and the body)
- "Embodied" and "enactive" approaches to the mind
