Professor

Anthony King is a Professor in Sociology. His main areas of research are sport, social theory and the military. His most recent book, The Combat Soldier: infantry tactics and cohesion in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries (Oxford University Press, was published in February 2013. He is currently working on a new project on the divisional headquarters (1750 to 2020). As a result of his research, he has increasingly acted as a mentor and advisor to the armed forces including a period with ISAF Regional Command South in 2009-10.
