Dr Gisa Weszkalnys
Biography
I joined the Department of Sociology & Philosophy at Exeter in September 2009. Before that I carried out research and taught in a number of different universities and departments.
I gained my Ph.D. in Social Anthropology from the University of Cambridge in 2005 (William Wyse Student 2000-03; Internal Graduate Student, Trinity College 2003-04). I was subsequently employed as Faculty Assistant Teacher in the Archaeology and Anthropology Faculty at Cambridge, and later worked as Research Officer at Goldsmiths, University of London, and in the School of Geography, Oxford University, on a project funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). From 2008 to 2009, I was the College Stipendiary Lecturer in Anthropology at Keble College, Oxford. I remain affiliated to Oxford University as a research associate of the African Studies Centre.
