In this module you will be introduced to bioacoustics, a branch of acoustics concerned with the sounds produced by or affecting living organisms. In addition to bioacoustics research the module draws upon work from anthrozoology, the anthropology of sound and Sound Studies. It introduces a range of perspectives on the soundworlds of human and nonhuman animals and explores contexts in which these soundworlds interact.  

In addition to an essay, you will be required make a sound recording and provide an accompanying text to enable you to think through and apply insights from the module in a practical context.
