POLM151: Great Power Relations between the United States and China
This module descriptor refers to the 2017/8 academic year.
Module Aims
This module aims to provide you with an advanced introduction to the study of US-China relations. You will develop a theoretical toolkit through which to analyse and evaluate the historical evolution of US-China relations and examine key issues facing this great power relationship today, particularly politics, human rights, security, economics and trade.

Demonstrate substantive knowledge of US-China relations, the context in which it develops as well as the applicability of a range of theoretical positions to case studies; 2. Display in-depth knowledge of the contemporary and historical dimensions of US-China relations. |
Discipline-Specific Skills | 3. Develop analytical understanding of the development of US-China relations as a field of academic knowledge and its applicability to a range of case studies and situations; 4. Exercise informed judgement concerning great power relations. |
