This module is taught to you in German and closely reflects the way in which law is taught in German universities. It is intended to acquaint you with the German Legal System and to provide you with a good understanding of German Constitutional Law, as broken down to Grundrechte and Staatsorganisationsrecht.

Tutorials will introduce you to German legal thinking and writing as well as to case solving techniques in order to prepare you for your year abroad studying for the German degree of Magister

The course is taught by means of lectures (2 hours a week) and tutorials (2 hours every other week). The lectures will provide you with the necessary theoretical background. The tutorials are designed to be interactive and aim at testing your understanding of principles and techniques. Your keenness to participate is paramount. The small size of the group is beneficial to these active learning processes and interactive teaching. You are expected to come to the tutorials prepared, in particular as far as the vocabulary is concerned. This way, you will be capable of discussing and solving problems in the tutorials with your peers and tutor, thereby developing skills of self-expression and of legal analysis.

This module is open only to LLB European (German) / Magister students.
