Placement/Study Abroad440Lectures and practical classes at host institution in destination country in standard Arabic (written) and spoken Arabic. Currently, teaching hours at the host institution are 5 per day from Sunday to Thursday. This is approximately 153 hours /51 days over each term, taking into consideration festivities and national holidays.
Placement/Study Abroad530Reading for lectures and classes; preparation and completion of coursework; and revision for written and oral examinations. Students are given a task to prepare a range of activities for class; activities include reading, learning vocabulary, learning grammar and listening. These are then discussed and activated in class through interactive learning sessions.

Guided independent study100For work placement: Independent and assisted preparation for placement: Contact with organisation, arrangements for travel, accommodation and visa (where necessary), arrangement of work activities, communication with appointed academic advisor and with work supervisor. Reading, reflection, essay writing, producing case studies based on personal experience and the critical use of relevant scholarly literature.
Guided independent study100Guided independent study for Media Project: Preparation for and reflection on, tutorials with supervisors; Researching topic and creating media project storyboard/outline; Completing final draft of media project.
