This module introduces you to two major areas of law that form the cornerstone of work in the English Chancery Courts: trusts, and company law. The trust is a common law invention, and is a special way of holding property. Modern examples include the pensions trust, or a charity. You will also be introduced to the law regulating the main vehicle for doing business world wide, the company.
