This module will provide you with an entry-level introduction to strategic theory and its value in understanding contemporary and historical forms of mass violence, civil disobedience, including civil wars, interstate wars, and terrorism and arms races. The module will introduce you to a wide variety of types of theory, and the ways in which different types of theory help us understand, and are more appropriate to, specific types of violence and conflict.
