This is a core module for Third Year Single and Combined Honours students. You will build on knowledge from prerequisite module ARA1033 Elementary Arabic Language and ARA2000 your year abroad or equivalent.  Having spent a year in an Arabic-speaking country, you will have a deeper knowledge of Arabic language and culture and knowledge of different Arabic dialects. This module will help you to build on this experience and to develop active and passive learning of Arabic through a wide range of written and audio-visual materials. You will strengthen your awareness of the different styles and registers of Arabic and to develop your skills in composition and translation whilst consolidating your use of colloquial Arabic.
