This module is designed for those of you who have completed ARA 2164 Intermediate Turkish I (or equivalent proficiency). It seeks to enhance your reading, writing and communication skills in Modern Turkish. By the end of the course, you are expected to achieve basic to intermediate proficiency in the language. Both written texts and audio-visual material, you will be able to work on all language-related skills, including reading, listening, speaking, writing and cultural knowledge. The module covers all the major grammatical structures of Turkish. The aim is to provide a thorough grounding in grammar with constant practice in the spoken and written language. Students should reach a standard that will enable them to read newspaper articles, short stories and novels with the help of a dictionary.
