This module continues Elementary Persian and Elementary Persian 2 (ARA1013 and ARA1020; Intermediate Persian, ARA2141): its pre-requisites). We concentrate on more complicated grammatical constructions and higher level textual readings. We also listen online to BBC and VOA Persian programmes for listening comprehension skills, in addition to weekly assignments, quizzes, etc. Exercises include: translation of texts, dictation, Persian essay writing involving descriptions of pictures with lecturer feedback, conversation on day-to-day social interactions and political affairs. Some more classical and modern Persian poetry is introduced and studied and around 120 pages of the textbook are covered.
