The emphasis of this module will be aiming at acquisition of knowledge of the fundamental structure of Turkish grammar and language, ability to read intermediate texts in Turkish; capacity to carry on conversations in Turkish; understanding of the importance of the Turkish language and civilization in the broader context of Islamic civilization and culture. The module covers all the major grammatical structures of Turkish. The intention is to provide you with a thorough grounding in grammar with constant practice in the spoken and written language. You should reach a standard that will enable you to read newspaper articles, short stories and novels with the help of a dictionary.
Elementary Turkish II (ARA1032) or equivalent proficiency is a pre-requisite for this module.
