LAW2701: Law Placement

This module descriptor refers to the 2022/3 academic year.

Module Aims

This non-credit bearing module aims to help you to prepare for the placement year that will take place in the third year of your degree. The module aims to assist you in your job/placement search and to provide a general preparation for successful participation in the workforce. The combination of synchronous workshops and e-learning tasks focus on securing a placement, work-readiness and professionalism.

On successfully completing the programme you will be able to:
Module-Specific Skills1. understand the impact of behaviour, ethics and health and safety in the workplace;
2. understand the importance of continuing personal and professional development in the workplace;
3. understand the academic requirements that are expected during the placement year.
Discipline-Specific Skills4. locate information sources that will help you identify a) the skills (discipline specific and transferable) that you should acquire by completing your degree; and b) career options where a degree in your subject area is essential, desirable or useful.
Personal and Key Skills5. locate information sources that will help you to identify, critically reflect on and provide examples from your own experiences to demonstrate the personal and key skills that you have developed and that graduate employers value most highly.
