This module will provide an opportunity to understand decolonial perspectives on criminology and to understand criminological issues and contexts of the Global South. There is a growing awareness that criminology, like other social sciences, has been predominantly Westerncentric. This module will offer an opportunity to question some of the established assumptions of criminology and move away from a focus on the Global North.
It is suitable for non-specialist students and those on interdisciplinary pathways.
