Language and Education Network (LEN)

The Language and Education Network is hosted by the School of Education.

This interdisciplinary network fosters an inclusive research culture and enhances academic socialisation of early career and established researchers by offering opportunities for exchange, learning, belonging and networking. LEN offers regular workshops and seminars with local and international staff and student speakers, as well as many other research-related activities.

We are a group of scholars who teach, research and publish in the field of language education in diverse contexts. This includes first, second, foreign and/or modern language education, including English/TESOL, English as an additional language (EAL) and multilingual/plurilingual approaches. We use different perspectives to understand language education and languages in education and what this means for teachers and learners in formal and informal contexts.
