Since 2008, I have worked on a number of grammar and writing research projects headed by Debra Myhill. The most recent of these, running from January 2013 to July 2016, is an ESRC-funded longitudinal study investigating the development of metalinguistic understanding in children between the ages of 9 and 14.
PhD awarded in April 2014: "It's a matter of individual taste, I guess": secondary school English teachers' and students' conceptualisations of quality in writing.'
