Exeter Law School in Cornwall launch party

On Friday 20th September 2019 we officially launched our Exeter Law School in Cornwall (Skol an Lagha Karesk). The event was attended by our first cohort of students as well as staff, local solicitors, barristers and members of the Cornwall Law Society.

Kicking off the proceedings was Professor David Hosken, the new Pro-Vice Chancellor for Cornwall. David gave a brief introduction to the event and congratulated the students on their previous excellent academic attainment, which enabled them to attend the University of Exeter and take a place on the exciting new law and business programme. This rousing welcome was followed by Fred Howell, the President of the Cornwall Law Society, who discussed how it is never too late to pursue a change in career. Fred shared with the audience that he had only qualified as a solicitor at the tender age of 45, highlighting how there isn’t an expiry date on becoming a solicitor! Finally, Professor Richard Moorhead, the new Head of the Exeter Law School, finished the proceedings by giving his congratulations to the students. He praised the undergraduates for being the first cohort of a truly revolutionary approach to Law. We were then treated to some incredibly tasty canapés by Avo Catering, a local sustainable catering company. Read more here.
